Alina, Vanguard College Prep’s certified Independent Education Consultant, holds an education counseling certificate from the University of California, Irvine. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude (top 2 percent GPA) from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance.
As her high school’s Valedictorian, Alina understands the importance and nature of academic excellence. Having harnessed the ability to graduate university debt-free by navigating through FAFSA and leveraging numerous scholarships, she now intends to dedicate herself to helping our students obtain higher education at low or no cost.
By assessing and guiding students based on their specific personalities and academic as well as professional inclinations, Alina steers them towards unique, inconspicuous opportunities that not only help them stand out from within a pool of prospective college applicants but also increase their likelihood of qualifying for merit-based scholarships and grants. Her passion for education is evident in her sessions, which are a reflection of her belief in Constructivism: a process whereby she gauges a student’s prior knowledge about his or her field of study and the admissions process, then carefully orchestrates cues, and penetrating questions to push students to higher levels of understanding and performance.
Alina has helped students gain admissions into top tier universities such as Columbia, Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt, University of Southern California, University of California-Berkeley, as well as highly selective BS/MD Programs (direct Medical Program) such as the Penn State Jefferson College and Rice-Baylor College of Medicine.
